SEF carefully selects instructors and professors with a passion for teaching, unlike other tutoring agencies that hire volunteers. Name: Jay Minaya

Title: CEO / Spanish communications specialist

Juliocesar Jay Minaya was born in Lima, Peru. He moved to the United States to pursue his Business Administration Diploma at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He graduated in 2005 and worked in the mortgage and banking industry in large firms for two years in Boulder area. But his passion for teaching his native language made him pursue his dream of opening his own language school.

His goal is to help English speakers to learn Spanish to enhance their travel experiences, and enable them to communicate with more people. "There are so many English language courses offered to non-English speaking people who come to the USA but you find only a few efficient Spanish courses which are directed at English speakers" "I wanted to change that , now through SEF you can find a variety of Spanish lessons for almost every need". Jay developed his own methods for teaching Spanish. He created the "fun method" which combine with his fresh style it makes the learning experience very enjoyable. Jay also teaches this Spanish method through Bolder Languages and the Longmont Free University. Today Jay Minaya is the President and one of the instructors at Spanish Easy and Fun.

Name: David Minaya

Title: SEF Program Coordinator / Spanish Communications Specialist

Services Offered: Spanish instructor for adults, organizations and private tutoring, translation and interpretation. David also offers a cultural approach in all his classes.

David was born in Lima, Peru. He holds an Architect bachelor degree from the Ricardo Palma University. Besides his responsibilities as program coordinator David continues to teaching Spanish at SEF to stay close to the needs of our students. In his free time David enjoys cooking Peruvian and Italian dishes and presenting at art galleries.

Experience:

  • 5 years studying Architecture at the best Architectural Peruvian College
  • 5 years of professional experience teaching all levels of Spanish in USA
  • 4 years teaching Advanced Spanish at the Longmont Free University

Travel Experience: South America, the Caribbean and USA

 

Name: Anne Tayler

Title: Spanish and English communications specialist

Services Offered: all levels of Spanish lessons in small and large groups, Spanish tutoring, Spanish for kids, and all levels of English lessons (ESL).

Anne Tayler is originally from Grand Haven, Michigan. She came to Colorado to enjoy the beautiful weather and mountains. She has been able to use her passion for the Spanish language to pursue her passion for other cultures and travel

Education:

  • Bachelor of Art in Spanish and English from University of Michigan
  •  Studies in Literatura Española e Hispanoamericana from Universidad de Sevilla

Experience:

  • Current Spanish teacher at Horizon Middle school
  • 5 years of Spanish and English language tutor
  • Lived and studies in Seville, Spain for 1 year

Travel Experience: Spain, Central America and the Caribbean.

 

Name: Robin Kazmier

Title: Spanish and English Communications Specialist

Services Offered: Beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish lessons in group classes for adults and businesses, tutoring, Spanish for children, and English lessons.

  • Education: B.A. from Northwestern University
  • Majors in Cultural Anthropology and Geography
  • Semester Program in Bolivia: Culture and Development
  • Course work at the New Dawn Center of Costa Rica

Robin is a fully bilingual. She was born in Michigan, she has tutored and taught all levels of Spanish over the past 10 years in the United States and abroad in various capacities. Her undergraduate anthropology research took her to Bolivia, where she completed an intensive Culture and Development study program, and gained her first exposure to the indigenous languages of the Andes. She has also worked as a freelance Spanish translator and most recently returned from working as a coordinator/teacher on a cocoa farm in rural Costa Rica.

Awards:

  • Graduated with Honors in both Anthropology and Geography at Northwestern University
  • 2003 ACTFL Spanish Assessment: Near Native
  • 2000 Spanish National Honor Society Academic Scholarship

Travel Experience: Robin has lived in Bolivia and Costa Rica , and traveled in Chile , Ecuador , Panama , Nicaragua, Honduras, Ireland, England , Scotland , Canada and the Bahamas .

 

Name: Jennifer Wetzig

Title: Spanish and English communications specialist

Services Offered: all levels of Spanish lessons in one on one tutoring for adults, Spanish lessons for children, and all levels of English lessons (ESL).

Jenny was born in Boulder but grew up outside of Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from St. Olaf College with majors in Spanish and Sociology/Anthropology and spent 2009 teaching English in Chile. Now back in Colorado, Jenny plans on using Spanish in her career in education as well as continue traveling throughout Latin America. She enjoys soccer, running, skiing, reading and baking.

  • St. Olaf Honors Recognition, 2005-2008

Experience:

  • EFL, TEFL Instructor at WorldTeach in Concepcion, Chile.
  • English instructor at North American institute in Concepcion, Chile

Name: Fiona McCarthy

Title: Spanish and English communications specialist

Services Offered: all levels of Spanish lessons in small and large groups, Spanish tutoring, Spanish for children, and all levels of English lessons (ESL).

Fiona is a licensed Spanish Teacher for the State of Colorado and has been teaching for 7 years. Within those 7 years she lived in Spain for two.

Education:

  • Cambridge Certificate in CELTA, CLIC International in Seville, Spain
  • Teaching Certificate in Spanish Secondary Education
  • Bachelor in Spanish and Art

Travel Experience:Spain, Central America and South America.

 

Name: Evelyn Aguilar

Title: Spanish communications specialist

Services Offered: Intensive Spanish in beginning and intermediate levels in groups and tutoring for professional adults, teens and kids.

Learn Spanish with Evelyn. She was born in Lima, Peru. She holds a BA in Spanish and Marketing. She has been working at the Language education industry for over 5 years. Learning Spanish with Evelyn is fun.

Experience:

  • 5 years teaching Spanish to professional adults such as engineers, doctors, lawyers and business owners
  • 3 years teaching Spanish for children
